The area of Deer Park sits on the borders of Houston, Sugar Land, and Baytown. It is also near Pasadena and La Porte. It is a historic area that has been around since 1892 by founder Simeon H. West, a farmer, retired legislator, and much-traveled adventurer from Illinois. It is named for large amounts of deer that roam the area.

Students attend Deer Park ISD and some area also zone to La Porte ISD.¬†Deer Park has 4 junior high schools, Deer Park Junior High, Bonnette Junior High, Fairmont Junior High and Deepwater Junior High. There are 7 elementary schools that serve the area as well. For higher education, San Jacinto College is nearby as well. It’s the perfect location for hardworking, refinery shift workers too.
